We loved our cake! It turned out so well and we were extremely pleased with it. We came up with the whole Jess and Andrew in a plane idea very early on. We then spent months trying to find a cake decorator who could do one for a reasonable price. Some of the earlier quotes came back at $750! For a cake! My mum was urging us to give up and just have a normal, boring cake. I'm so glad we persisted. We found Joanne in the Yellow Pages and after speaking with her, getting a quote and viewing her portfolio we decided she was the one. She did a fantastic job, although she has vowed never to do a plane for a cake ever again. When we arrived to view the cake, Andrew was most amused to see that Joanne had unknowingly put me in the pilot's seat. A sign of things to come perhaps? We even get to keep the model that was on top of the cake. It will have pride of place on our bookshelf. |
