The other day Andrew and I went for a walk at sunset along the harbour. It had been a beautiful day - sunny, warm - a typical summer's day in Australia. It was followed by a typical Summer's evening. It was still 25 degrees when we went for our walk. There was also a beautiful sunset.

Here are some photos Andrew took on our walk. We hope you enjoy the sunset as much as we did.

Hello! Sorry, we didn't mean to disappear for so long. We've been busy packing up an apartment, moving countries and then settling back into our Aussie lifestyle (yay! mangoes!).

There is a lot to catch up on. I have weeks and weeks of Project 52 to blog about before the year ends, Andrew's Dad turned 80 on the weekend and there was a big party, we decorated a gingerbread house with the boys, and more. Lots! So I better get cracking.

This is what home looks like by the way. Blue skies, sunshine, tshirts and thongs. I've been hearing about temperatures of 1 degree back in London. We're not missing it!

Andrew and I have had a little trouble re-acclimatising since returning to London. Two weeks ago, Andrew and I were swimming at Clovelly in the sunshine and under blue skies. Last week, Andrew and I spent a beautiful sunny morning at Maroubra beach with the Goldy crew. We surfed in the waves and played ultimate on the sand.

Yesterday morning, we awoke to a typical London morning. It was grey. It was raining. It was cold. As Andrew and I wandered up a deserted Portobello Rd to our favourite brunch spot, we tried to remember what sunshine felt like. In the afternoon we headed to Frisbee training and ran around in the cold, the rain and the mud for 2 hours. I had the feeling we were getting a big fat "Nyer nyer nyer, you should have stayed in Sydney" from London.
London

But maybe a reintroduction to cold weather is a good thing. We are off to Latvia, Estonia and Finland this weekend. I just checked the weather forecast and they're expecting snow. Sunshine to cold to freezing is easier then sunshine to freezing? I'll keep telling myself that.

the essentials the essentials the essentials

Look, it's an update! Is anyone still actually checking Fushmush?

We arrived home on Sunday and we're very happy to be home. We had fantastic four weeks of travelling. We had a week seeing the highlights of Russia and three wonderful weeks exploring South America. We can really recommend visiting these interesting and incredible places.

Yesterday, we headed to Marrickville Metro to complete an important task. We picked up the essentials that we miss so very much in London. Hopefully I now have enough minty blue gel toothpaste to last me for the next year. When it runs out we're coming home for good!

Stayed tuned for more updates! It's been far too quiet around here.

On Sunday, Andrew and I played in the third and final tournament of the Summer Fun Series at Mason Park in Homebush. With the temperature reaching 35 degrees out West on Sunday the Summer part was absolutely correct but I think the Fun bit might have been a little bit of a misnomer. It certainly was hard going on Sunday and we all finished the day exhausted and dehydrated. Andrew and I were asleep by six o'clock that evening.

On the day, Andrew played with Allied Forces, lead by Sergeant "Bam" Stuart. The boys dressed in camouflage for the day, which occasioned much "Who said that?" humour. Allied Forces played well in the pool games and made it through to the semis. After losing to Sydney Uni in the Semis, the boys declined to play a 3rd/4th decider and conceeded a draw. I guess that means they came equal 3rd for the Tournament.

My team, sexy, saucy, choice bro Southside, also did quite well on the day. We also made it to the semis where we were defeated by Canberra. After much debate, we also decided to forego the 3rd/4th play-off. We placed equal third for the tournament and second overall for the Summer Fun Series. Go Southside!
