I hope I don't get any nasty comments about water restrictions from posting these photos.

The boys were "watering the garden" and they were having so much fun that we let them play with the hose for a little bit before we turned it off.

Sydney weather is crazy at the moment. Yesterday, on the first day of Summer, I ventured out at lunch into a gorgeous, Summer day. The sun was shining in a clear, blue sky and it was a sweltering 39 degrees. Four hours later, at the end of the working day, it was like we'd time travelled back to August. A cold, gusty wind was blowing and I shivered in the frigid temperatures. Later that night at Ultimate Frisbee, lightning was flashing in the distance. Although, the storm wasn't very close, there was so much static electricity in the air that our hair was standing on end; just like a year 10 Science experiment. It was very freaky!

Make up your mind Sydney! Please pick some weather and stick to it. I'd like to put in a request for Summer weather please *G*.

  • You spend Saturday morning Christmas shopping at Glebe Markets.

  • It's time for the yearly Santa photo. Santa never knows what to say to two grown women getting a Santa photo. "Ho Ho Ho, what do you want for Christmas little girl?" Whatever he says he'll inevitably sound like a pervert, so he wisely keeps his mouth shut.

  • You go out on Saturday night and it's still 30 degrees. You don't need to take a jacket but you do (because you're neurotic).

  • BBQ party in the backyard. The smell of citronella and aeroguard in the air; you still get eaten alive by mozzies. A more tempting smell leads you to a table laden with sausages, kebabs, potato bake, pasta salad, coleslaw, greek salad and garden salad. So hard to resist the lure of sausages, but you do... go will power! You reward yourself with pistachio gelato on the way home.

  • A Sunday morning snorkel at Clovelly. You spend most of the time lazing in your beach chair, reading fluffy chick lit. You eventually brave the icy waters because you can't go to the beach and not go for a swim.

  • A perfect Sunday brunch of poached eggs, spinach, smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce (on the side). The boy opts for pancakes, bacon and maple syrup.

  • Plans for an afternoon of grocery shopping and house cleaning fall by the wayside. Instead, you spend your afternoon with friends at the pub, drinking Bulmers (beer for the boys) and watching cricket. It's too hot to clean the house!

  • Somehow, you still manage to squeeze in an afternoon nap.
