For the past week at work, they've been building a giant yellow bear out of Lego blocks at work. Not just because playing with Lego is fun, but to raise money for Children in Need. Children in Need is a UK charity which helps disadvantaged children have a better life. The charity's mascot is a big yellow bear called Pudsey.

The appeal culminated last night with a television appeal and telethon at the TV Centre. Ever since we started work at the Beeb, I've been hoping that I might run into someone famous in the halls. (Although, it is quite possible that I may not actually recognise a UK celebrity if I passed them.) I still haven't run into anyone famous, but last night we had a backstage pass to the fundraising appeal.

We had fun flitting between the TV studio where they were recording the appeal (we saw Peter Andre and Jordan sing other people's songs again), the hallways with the dressing rooms (hoping to run into someone famous), and the outdoor concert (we saw Jamiroquai live!). At the end of the evening I bought a Pudsey of my very own to take home. Gotta love perks at work.
