Well, we're in the last week of October, and we've only managed to make it to one Good Food Month Event; the Night Noodle Markets @ The Botanic Gardens. Although, I think it's one of the best GFM events, so maybe that makes up for our lack of participation in the other activites. Finally, the weather came through for us and we were able to make it to the markets last night. We ate scrumptious noodles while we lounged on the grass, mesmerised by a fantastic view of Sydney Harbour. It's a pity it only happens in October, they should make it a regular Spring/Summer event.
I hate to be the one to break the sad news to you but if you haven't yet made it to Noodle Markets this year, tonight is your last chance to get there. Then, no more noodley nights until next year!

On Saturday evening we went to Mars Lounge to try and squeeze in another Good Food Month event before September ends. This time the event was Cocktail of the Month. A number of bars around the city are offering a cocktail and a canapé all for the bargin price of $15.
Mars Lounge deserves a 5-star trendy rating. Its inconspicuous exterior and lack of flashing neon sign mean only the trendiest of trendoids know it exists. However, I have been there twice so it can't be that exclusive. I didn't partake in the Good Food Month cocktail (it had basil as an ingredient and smelled like a Garden) but I did have a delicious strawberry-raspberry-chocolate concoction called a Bella Rouge. Highly recommended.
We had dinner at Dishy Café on Stanley street. A bargin $10 steak, vegies and chips! My cocktails at Mars Lounge, at $14.50 each, cost more than my dinner!

It's Good Food Month this month! For some strange reason they swapped it from October to September this year so we've missed most of it. However, we managed to visit the Night Noodle Markets on Sunday evening. It's worth going just for the wonderful view!
The event also gave me a chance to catch up with some old school friends. It's been ages since I last saw Emma. We actually had a long conversation trying to figure out just when we had last seen each other. Emma, I promise I'll organise an event soon! (maybe just to avoid the "when did we last see each other" conversation *g*).
If you too want to experience the Night Noodle Markets, you better hurry up! They finish next Tuesday.
