I've been a bit lax in my welcome to Elliot. Everyone deserves a fushmush post to mark their arrival. Clare and Brendan celebrated Elliot's arrival in mid-April.
The story of Elliot's birth is one fit for a TV sitcom. Clare actually went into labour at my pseudo baby shower. Her waters broke at my afternoon tea shower at The Victoria Room in Darlinghurst. Andrew was picking us up from the shower so I rang to ask him to bring something for Clare to sit on in the car. Andrew was already on his way so he stopped at a petrol station and got a wad of paper towels. Glamorous. It's going to be a funny story to tell Elliot and Evie when they grow up.
We held a guessing competition at Clare's baby shower and we have an almost winner. Most of us guessed that Elliot would arrive earlier in April. He held out for a week or so past his due date though. Elliot was born on the 18th April, 00:15 and weighed 3.5 kg. So Sue is the winner guessing 17th April and 3.35 kg. Well done Sue!

Finally got around to editing the photos from Clare and Brendan's wedding.
Andrew was lucky enough to be present when the professional photographers were taking the arty photos. Well, not exactly lucky. To take the professional photos, the bridal party went for a bit of a wander down the road and I was wearing ridiculously high heels. I called Andrew to come and rescue the bridesmaids. He drove down with flats for Ange and I. He stuck around too and drove the ladies back up to the ceremony. He's such a nice boy.
Here are some of my favourites from Andrew's photos. Andrew says it looks like I'm trying to eat the frisbee in the last photo.

Of course, after a hens party there is usually a wedding. No exceptions here.
Clare and Brendan's wedding fit perfectly into the wedding mould. The weather was beautiful, the bride looked stunning, the groom looked handsome, the bridesmaids were hawt (*ahem* it helps when you have a team of hairdressers and a makeup artist working on you throughout the day) and the groomsmen were spunky, the ceremony was very moving, the dinner delicious and the reception rocking. It was a fabulous day and very fitting for such a loving and lovely couple.
I might throw in one extra adjective into my description of the wedding: super organised. I'm not sure that I've seen a bride as organised as Clare. There were spreadsheets, folders, checklists and even a list of the group photos Clare wanted to taken on the day. So organised, that photos from the wedding were posted the day after. Organised...
So here are some photos (slideshow). I am less organised and will be posting the photos Andrew took at the wedding at a later date.

Recently, we partied on at Clare and Brendan's "Four Reasons for a Party" party.
Originally, Clare and Brendan had decided to have a combined House Warming / Brendan's Birthday party. They selected April 1st as the date for the party so it turned into a combined House Warming / Brendan's Birthday / April Fools Day party. Then Clare's work decided to send her to Singapore for a 9 month stint. Another reason was added and it became a combined House Warming / Brendan's Birthday / April Fools Day / Clare's Farewell party. Confused yet?
By the end of the evening we'd come up with heaps more reasons to have a party. These included:
- End of daylight savings and an extra hour of sleep the next morning.
- A brand new Green flashlight Frisbee
- Hungry Hungry Hippo
- Press stud shirts
- Frisbee is BAM! (I wonder who nominated this reason?)
- Billionaire (two! two! two! one! ONE!)
- Party Pies ("without a party they'd just be pies and that's boring")
- Leaf leap
Visit Clare's blog to read about her adventures in Singa-POH. Be sure to leave a comment!
