Andrew celebrated his first Father's Day on the weekend. It was a bit exciting. Andrew got to sleep in and then I cooked him pancakes for breakfast. Well, I tried to cook him pancakes for breakfast but after a busy Friday and Saturday I was bit sleep deprived. Andrew had to step in and help out a bit.
Lunch was at NannyJ and TD's house with the Bells. In the morning we went for a walk in Pirrama park and enjoyed the glorious Spring sunshine. After our walk we had a delicious lunch; prawns and oysters for starters, slow-cooked lamb for mains and trifle for dessert. Yum!

For Father's Day gifts, I organised for Andrew (on behalf of Evie) a stubby holder with photos of Evie on it. It combines two of Andrew's loves - beer and Evie. A great idea from one of the ladies at Mothers' Group.

I also bought some nautical themed prints from Etsy for Andrew and TD as they both love sailing. The prints are of the International Maritime Signal Flags. There are 26 flags and each flag represents a letter of the alphabet and also has an assigned message. For Andrew, I bought prints of the A, J and E flags. For Dad, I bought the prints of the T and D flags.
It's surprising how apt some of the messages associated with our initials are. For example, the message associated with J is "I am on fire and have dangerous cargo on board: keep well clear of me." I need a flagpole sticking out of my head so I can hoist the J flag when I'm having one of those days. The flag for D is "Keep clear of me; I am maneuvering with difficulty" which is not only appropriate for TD but suitable for most of the men in the Daley family.
I hope all the fathers out there had just as an enjoyable Father's Day.
