*jess bounces* yay! iTunes is here and I just bought my first song. What was it? Madonna's newest single, Hung Up. It rocks! I'm playing it at full volume and dancing around the house with my undies on my head. So much for the October 31st launch; I guess they couldn't wait either. I'm slightly disappointed that Sony BMG hasn't come to the table. My first song download was going to be the latest Rogue Trader's single, Way to Go. However, they are signed up with Sony, so their loss is Madonna's gain.

Why am I excited about October 31st? Apple has announced that they are holding a media conference on this date and the rumour is they will launch an Australian iTunes Music Store. Adding fuel to the rumours is the change to the layout of Apple's Australian site. There is now a great big gap where the link to the music store usually goes (on the American site for instance). When you hover your pointer over this space you get a tooltip that says "Launch Music Store". Are we finally going to be able to download music for our iPods legally? I'll have my fingers and toes crossed on October 31st.
