While I'm on the topic of advertising, this recent series of radio adverts for Solis has been making me giggle. I downloaded them from the Solis website and played them for Andrew. He thinks they are amusing as well. I think you should download and listen to them too, or I shall point you with my sabre harshly! As dude person say, "Bungacowa!"

By now, everyone has probably seen Carlton's "Big Ad". (If you haven't, what rock have you been hiding under?) The ad has been in the news because it's an example of viral marketing. The TV campaign wasn't officially launched until August 7th, but the ad itself was released to the internet community in mid-July. Nerds everywhere blogged about the new ad and a lot of people watched it on the net before it ever made it to TV. (Except Andrew... the proprietary software, required to view the ad, wouldn't run in his browser. Andrew dismissed the ad as crap.)

I have a problem with the "Big Ad". About half way through the ad, the boys in yellow, the guys that form the beer glass, have to climb over a fence. The blokes at the front are shown climbing clumsily over the fence. The crowd behind surges forward, everyone is eager to be the next over the fence. That fence is a crowd control nightmare; a disaster waiting to happen. The crowd behind would push the people at the front onto the fence and they'd have nowhere to go. People would be squished and trampled to death. How does the beer ever reach the man so it can celebrate with jubilation in his tummy?

Of course, whenever the ad is shown I yell this at the TV. Andrew has told me I need to get over the fence... (Ha-ha! Get it? get over the fence.)

I can't believe people are paid to write this crap! What does it mean?

In 'Fruitopia' we call our juice J. J is the way it tastes, the way we make it, and the way it makes us (and you) feel. 'Fruitopia'. :) Where fruit is king and frowning is against the law.

Fruitopia makes me feel like J? I feel a sudden urge to eat chicken, bacon and potatoes.
