"We arrived home on New Years Day to find that we had no heating and no hot water. The boilerman visited several times. He replaced a part and then another part. Still not working. They decided to replace the boiler altogether. Still not working. Over the past two weeks, we've become best friends with our kettle. We know how many kettles worth you need to boil to get stuff done. It's two kettles for a wash in the morning. Three kettles to do the washing up. Eight kettles to fill the bath a few inches deep to have a pretend bath. Last night, they replaced another part and finally it all seems to be working. I had a proper shower this morning. It's the first time that there has been condensation on our bathroom mirror for a while. "
