Our decision not to buy a TV has paid off. I do have more spare time. (Although, I still manage to watch a fair bit of television. I keep up with all my favourite television shows.) In Sydney, I never had the time to play craft. Now, I have the time but I don't have tools. So I've had to pursue other hobbies... Baking!
I've been inspired by some of the crafty blogs to try my hand at baking. After seeing a picture on HopSkipJump, I thought I'd bake a batch of YoYos for Easter. I thought they'd be the perfect Easter weekend treat as they remind me of Easter Eggs.
After borrowing beaters and kitchen scales off Natalie (thanks chicky!), I set to work one evening whipping up a batch of YoYos. I ended the night with a tub full of YoYos and an impressive grill shaped burn on my arm. I'm still working this baking thing out (It doesn't help that our kitchen is the size of a shoebox!)
They aren't as pretty as the ones at HopSkipJump but I reckon they probably tasted just as good. They were so yummy; just ask John and Leah! I returned from our weekend away with just the crumbs at the bottom of the container to show for my efforts. I'm taking that as a compliment.
