ATTEMPT 1
Pubs Visited: 11 (Pubs 14 - 26)
Date: 11/11/2006
Attendees: Jess, Andrew, Tash, Nat, Charles, Kristy, Scott, Laura,
Our first attempt at the Monopoly Pub Crawl was conducted in order to farewell Miss Tash. Tash has very fond (albeit a little hazy) memories of her two previous attempts at the Monopoly Pub Crawl. As the crawl traverses many famous streets in London; she thought it would be the perfect way to say goodbye to the city.

The crawl started at 12pm at the halfway mark of the route, Lord Moon of the Mall (Whitehall). Tash and I were the initial starters and we started in style with a half-pint accompanied by bangers and mash. Over the next 9 hours, we visited 11 pubs (one pub on the route no longer exists), and along the way we were joined by many of Tash's friends. Some of them even managed to stick around until the very end (Yay me, Andrew, Nat and Scott! and Tash of course!). We also ran into at least three other groups completing the same pub crawl. Obviously the pubs get a fair bit of business from this event.

Five and a half pints is a big night for me and by the end of the evening I was falling asleep on Andrew's shoulder. It was only 9pm but it felt like it was 2am.
TITLE DEED
Duke of York
No on Route: Pub 25
Drink: Baileys
Attendees: Jess, Andrew, Tash, Nat, Scott
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 11)
Comments:
Definitely slowing down at this time. The pub was mostly empty. We climbed a spiral staircase to the 2nd floor and had our required drink there. It's a bit tricky to negotiate a spiral staircase when drunk.
TITLE DEED
The Woodstock
No on Route: Pub 26
Drink: Winter Pimms
Attendees: Jess, Andrew, Tash, Nat, Scott
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 12)
Comments:
The last pub on the official pub crawl and the last pub for our mini crawl. Finally got to try the Winter Pimms at this location. Tasty! Ran into another group doing the pub crawl, but in a different order. They had another 3 pubs to go. I was very glad I wasn't them.
TITLE DEED
The Captain's Cabin
No on Route: Pub 22
Drink: Cider
Attendees: Jess, Andrew, Tash, Nat, Scott, Laura
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 9)
Comments:
Another pub that seemed to be quite busy. We managed to score a table and then decided to have some snackage. We ate some dodgy nachos, wedges and chicken strips. I regretted this meal later on the evening.
TITLE DEED
The Comedy
No on Route: Pub 21
Drink: Cider (Magners)
Attendees: Jess, Andrew, Tash, Nat, Scott, Laura
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 8)
Comments:
A pub with no character. Seemed to be a cross between a pub and a bar. Most of the clientele were watching a footy match on the TV.
TITLE DEED
The Moon Under Water
No on Route: Pub 20
Drink: Cider (Magners)
Attendees: Jess, Andrew, Tash, Nat, Charles, Scott, Kristy, Laura
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 7)
Comments:
A strong smell of vomit at one end of the bar kind of spoiled our enjoyment of this pub. We stood at the non-smoking end and made Charles stand in the smoking area by his lonesome.
TITLE DEED
The Chandos
No on Route: Pub 19
Drink: Cider
Attendees: Jess, Andrew, Tash, Nat, Charles, Scott, Kristy
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 6)
Comments:
I really liked this pub. We headed upstairs and managed to score a corner with some comfy lounges and chairs for this stop. Maybe the comfy lounge is influencing my opinion.
TITLE DEED
Ye Old Cheshire Cheese
No on Route: Pub 16
Drink: Cider
Attendees: Jess, Tash, Charles
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 3)
Comments:
A rabbit warren of a pub. We sat upstairs because they were having a sing-a-long downstairs and it was packed. Charles was sad because they didn't serve food upstairs.
TITLE DEED
The Wellington
No on Route: Pub 17
Drink: Cider
Attendees: Jess, Andrew, Tash, Nat, Charles, Scott, Kristy
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 4)
Comments:
Charles and Andrew forged ahead and were the first to arrive at this pub. (Tash was delayed waiting for some friends to arrive, and I was delayed getting a cheeseburger from Maccas.) The inside of the pub was quite busy, so we sat outside (brrrr!) Nat joined us at this pub and made everyone jealous with her hot winter Pimms.
TITLE DEED
Swallow Street Bar
No on Route: Pub 23
Drink: None
Attendees: Jess, Andrew, Tash, Nat, Scott, Laura
Visited: 11/11/2006
Comments:
Pub doesn't actually exist. We tried to go to the alternative suggestion but the bouncers were not keen to let us riff-raff into the swanky bar for a drink.
TITLE DEED
O'Neills
No on Route: Pub 24
Drink: Baileys
Attendees: Jess, Andrew, Tash, Nat, Scott, Laura
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 10)
Comments:
A chain pub, so it was slightly tacky in a "feet stick to the floor" kinda way. Reminded me of St Patrick's nightclub in Sydney.
TITLE DEED
The Marquess of Anglesey
No on Route: Pub 18
Drink: Cider
Attendees: Jess, Andrew, Tash, Nat, Charles, Scott, Kristy, Laura
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 5)
Comments:
Rather crowded pub. We ran into another group on the Monopoly pub crawl. They were doing the full route of 26 pubs. Must be uni students.
TITLE DEED
The Sherlock Holmes
No on Route: Pub 15
Drink: Beer (Sherlock Holmes Ale)
Attendees: Jess, Tash, Charles
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 2)
Comments:
We sat outside at this pub and it was freezing. I drank the Pub's special beer, Sherlock Holmes Ale. It was gross!
TITLE DEED
The Lord Moon of the Mall
No on Route: Pub 14
Drink: Cider
Attendees: Jess, Tash
Visited: 11/11/2006 (Pub 1)
Comments:
Tash and I started the crawl with bangers and mash (and a drink). A good idea to line your stomach before a pub crawl.
