Hong Kong: Thursday evening - Autumn. Sydney: Friday evening - Spring

" Hello from Hong Kong! We decided that as this time was the last time we'd be doing the very long London to Sydney flight (24 hours eek!) that we may as well do a stop over in Hong Kong. Usually we want to spend as much time as possible at home but as we're going to be in Sydney forever, we figured there was no rush to get home. We thought a 2-day stop over in Hong Kong would be a good way to beat jet lag and we could do one last spot of touristing (before we moved home and became boring *G*).

Well, that was the plan. We left London at 9am and arrived in Hong Kong at 7am the next morning which was night time London time. Andrew and I hadn't slept much on the plane so we were both shattered. What did we do? We went straight to our hotel room and slept through until 6pm. We then got up and wandered down to Victoria harbour to watch the evening light show. The buildings that line the harbour all flash with pretty coloured lights in time with music. Exciting! Back to the hotel room where we slept for a little bit and then were awake for pretty much the rest of the night. Luckily the world's smallest hotel room had Wifi. The next day was pretty much a repeat of the first, a nap in the daytime and much Internet surfing in the early hours. We did manage to fit in a Star ferry trip and a tram ride up the Peak.

Operation beat jet lag was a complete failure. Operation touristing in Hong Kong - slightly more successful.

London: Wednesday evening - Autumn. Sydney: Thursday morning - Spring and then London: Tuesday morning - Autumn. Sydney: Tuesday evening - Spring.

"This is what our London apartment looked like for the better part of a month. Just a little bit messy. It's what happens when you have to pack up a house and move countries. It's a little bit more complicated than just moving house. When you move house you just put everything in a box and move it to the new place. We had to sort and decide what was worth shipping, what was worth selling and what wasn't worth anything at all. We ended up shipping 19 boxes of stuff. Who knows where we're going to put it when it finally arrives in Australia (certainly not in Mum and Dad's apartment). We sold a lot of stuff to our London friends. Lucky for us a few of our friends were buying houses and were looking to outfit their new homes. When they arrived to pick up their purchases we operated a buy one get a lot free system (how bout this vase? do you want a bedside lamp? anything else take your fancy?) The rest of it went to Vinnies. I'm pretty impressed with how smoothly the entire process went. "

Germany: Tuesday morning - Autumn. Sydney: Tuesday evening - Spring.

"Look at what John and Leah made! They've been doing some crafting of their own. This is John and Leah's daughter Susanna, who we were lucky enough to meet on our trip to Germany. Travelling with a four-month old didn't slow John and Leah down at all. We did a hike in an ice cave, we toured a fairy-tale castle and we wandered through several quaint German villages. Susanna was such a good girl though and she kept up with the pace. Here she is with a bit of my crafting. Remember my bunnies? Susanna found that Pinky's ears are very good for chewing on."

London: Friday evening - Autumn. Sydney: Saturday morning - Spring.

"Our last Easyjet flight ever! Here we are on an Easyjet flight to Munich, off to hang out with John, Leah and Susanna. Although I'm going to miss the jetsetting off to a new country on a weekend aspect of an Easyjet flight, I'm certainly not going to miss the stress. I've already blogged about how stressful I find Easyjet flights. So, while I should have been sad that this was our last ever weekend flight as a dinky couple living in London, I was actually doing a little dance of joy. No more group B! No more unassigned seating! No more orange! Yay!"

"My crafting mojo has returned. Hurrah! Here are two little doggies that were inspired by the Mad Dog pattern in the book Softies (a present from Sarah and Duncan). These two have already found new homes. One was snapped up by Andrew's workmate who wanted one for his daughter. The other was given as a present to Isaac. He immediately took the dog out into the yard and was running it through the garden growling and barking. A crafting success I think.

Isn't it strange how both photos are of dogs this week? We don't plan it that way, I promise!
